Syrian organizations set strategy for promoting ethical reconstruction in Syria

31 January 2019 – On January 28-29, Syrian and international organizations convened for a workshop entitled “Human Rights and Business.” The workshop was organized by the Syrian Legal Development Programme (SLDP) in Paris, France, and TDA program manager Abbas Al-Mousa attended the event.

Over two days of meetings, participants discussed developing a Syrian strategy for action that prevents the use of reconstruction as a reward for war criminals in Syria and ensures that human rights remain at the forefront of the conversation around any reconstruction in the future.

During the workshop, Abbas Al-Mousa stressed that reconstruction in Syria must take the aspect of an economical development process, and this can’t be made without the cessation of all violence, political transition, and accountability, in order to involve all the Syrian people within rebuilding their country.
