Job Description Details:

Job Title: Project Manager for Victims Support

Department: Programs Department

Reported to: Programs Director

Job Location: Turkey or Europe

Application Deadline: 14-05-2024

  • Project Description:

The project aims to empower survivors of arbitrary detention and the families of missing persons in Syria to play a leading role in the justice and accountability processes. TDA believes this overall goal can be pursued through several pathways, including empowering victims’ groups to actively engage with international justice and accountability mechanisms, which is the objective of this project. This objective can be achieved by equipping these groups with the sufficient Knowledge and set of skills they need to become primary interlocutor with these international bodies.

The project includes the following activities:

Survivor Training:

This activity aims to support targeted groups (survivors and families of the missing) to become more capable of advocating for their causes and engaging effectively with international justice mechanisms. We focus on nascent groups within Syria and neighboring countries as they are more vulnerable and lack access to support mechanisms.

Each group will receive training on human rights, accountability mechanisms, documentation of human rights violations, advocacy skills and techniques, digital security, and data management.

Trainer of Trainers (TOT) Training:

This activity targets the most experienced and engaged trainees from the previous activity to enhance their capacities and qualify them to transfer the experience they received to their communities or groups they can access.

Women’s Political Empowerment:

This activity aims to enhance women’s capacity for political participation, increase their Knowledge of human rights, and empower them to advocate for their causes.

Referral Department:

This department aims to secure services that The Day After cannot provide directly to survivors and families of the missing by referring them to specialized organizations and entities that provide these services (health, psychological, education, etc.)

Holding a Conference Bringing together survivors with international accountability institutions (Link-Meeting):

This activity will be held at the end of 2024, similar to what TDA did in previous years. It aims to facilitate the beneficiaries’ direct access to international accountability mechanisms and enable them to share their concerns and feedback.
