On 19-20 March 2019, four TDA staff attended the General Assembly meeting in Gaziantep for the first time. TDA recently joined the Shaml coalition, a coalition a Syrian CSOs working towards a common objective of empowering Syrian civil society to have a larger role in promoting and participating in democracy, human rights, and gender equality in Syria.
Over two days of the meeting, participants were introduced to the new members and their joint projects within the Shaml Collation, as well as the coordination strategy for 2019. As a conclusion, Dr. Mohammed Katoub from Syrian-American Medical Society (SAMS) and Mr. Bsael Al-Junaidy, from Orient Policy Center, gave an update and a discussion on the current situation in Syria.
