HUMAN RIGHTS & ACCOUNTABILITY
Human rights abuses have been committed against the Syrian people, paricularly at the hands of the Syrian regime, throughout the conflict.
TDA aims to put victims of human rights violations in the driver’s seat in advocating for accountability, human rights, and transitional justice.
PUBLIC OPINION SURVEYS
Powerful countries and international actors are dominating discussions about the future of Syria. In all of this noise, the voices of Syrians themselves are often drowned out.
Through public opinion surveys, TDA reveals the perspectives and beliefs of Syrians on the issues that will shape their future.
PEACE & RECONCILIATION
Ethnic and religious tensions threaten the possibility of sustainable peace in Syria. TDA works to promote dialogue among diverse groups of Syrians and foster the participation of marginalized groups of Syrians in the transition process.
GENDER EQUALITY & WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT
Syrian women and girls have been affected by the conflict in unique ways, including exposure to gender-based violence and discrimination. TDA supports the healing and social reintegration of women victims of violence, promotes the standards of gender equality and non-discrimination, and works to include women in every space where decisions on Syria are made.
HOUSING & PROPERTY RIGHTS
Legislation and policies of the Bashar al-Assad regime threaten the property rights of Syrians and their right to return to their homeland. TDA conducts research and organizes advisory groups on this issue to help Syrians understand the situation and advocate for their property rights.
GOVERNANCE & CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM
As a country whose modern history has been marked by dictatorships, democracy and good governance are top priorities for peace and stability in Syria. TDA works to influence the constitutional drafting process to ensure a constitution that safeguards the human rights of all Syrians. TDA also raises the awareness of communities in Syria on the concepts of human rights, democracy, and good governance.
