The statements of Syrian officials continue regarding the issuance of zoning plans for areas destroyed by the regime’s military machine, which forced their residents to flee and migrate. A source in the Damascus Governorate announced that the residents of Jobar neighborhood would not be able to return to their homes due to a zoning plan currently under review.

In this context, The Day After issued a press release warning of the risks that the sudden changes to Jobar neighborhood could cause, as the plan would fundamentally alter the neighborhood’s features. Through this statement, The Day After also called on the international community to pressure the Syrian regime to immediately halt the implementation of such projects until a political solution is reached that ensures the safe and dignified return of refugees and displaced persons to their homeland and guarantees their right to freely manage and defend their properties.
