Executive Director of The Day After (TDA). Before joining TDA, Al-Syoufi worked in capacity building to support Syrian CSOs and local councils. In 2012, he was a member of the committee that attended and drafted the documents issued by the Syrian opposition conference held in Cairo under the auspices of the Arab League, and between November 2012 and April 2013, Al-Syoufi was Assistant to the Deputy Head of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, and participated in high-level negotiations and talks with various stakeholders, including Syrian and international officials and institutions.
Al-Syoufi has been an active participant in civil society activities in Syria since the Damascus Spring in 2001. He contributed to the establishment of student committees and dialogue forums. During the Syrian revolution, he was a founding member of the General Syrian Revolutionary Committee (GSRC), an umbrella organization that coordinates peace activities related to the Syrian revolution, and is a member of the GSRC’s political bureau. He participated in nonviolent movements calling for change and freedom in Syria.
He has a deep knowledge of the Syrian socio-political discourse and is well connected with Syrian activists, civil society organizations and political entities.
